Georgii Cherkin is a Bulgarian pianist and composer.

He has played with some of the most respected conductors and musicians in the world. Not only is he renowned for his performances but also for his masterful orchestrations of many popular piano masterpieces, which have captivated audiences. He introduced the first-ever rendition of Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" in an arrangement for piano and orchestra, gaining worldwide recognition.^[1]

Biography

Cherkin was born in Sofia, Bulgaria in a family with a great music tradition (his grandfather Georgi Zlatev-Cherkin was a famous Bulgarian composer and vocal pedagogue).

He started playing the piano and composing at the age of six, and the following year he enrolled in the Liubomir Pipkov National Music School in Sofia, where he was a student of Antonina Boneva.
