Donal Skehan married his long-term girlfriend Sofie Larsson in City Hall at lunchtime today.

Sofie wore a stunningly simple white dress, with beading around the waist and Donal opted for a navy three piece suit with a purple tie.

In what turns out to be a typical Irish fashion, the couple met in a pub through mutual friends in Sofie came here from Sweden to visit a friend, and the two have been inseparable ever since.

“Her best friend is half Swedish and her grandmother used to live on the road I grew up on, so we kind of got to know her.

One year Sofie came over with her, we all went out to the pub and the rest is history,” he told Irish Independent a while back.

The pair have been engaged since last May, when the Howth native proposed to Sofie in Paris.
